POS Printer, Mobile Printer, Card Printer, Kisok Printer
The maximum paper width is 80mm.
The maximum paper width is 82.5mm
The correct paper width is 111.5mm ± 0.5mm. Please note that it is better to have 0.5mm to 1mm narrower than to be slightly too tight which can put extra strain on the printer mechanism.
The correct paper width is 112mm ± 0.5mm. Please note that it is better to have 0.5mm to 1mm narrower than to be slightly too tight which can put extra strain on the printer mechanism.
The maximum paper width is 82.5mm.
The paper width is linearly adjustable from 58mm to 80mm.
An optional paper guide can be fitted to support 58mm paper width for Star TSP600. In case of Star TSP043, TSP100(U/ECO/LAN) and Star TSP650(II), paper guide is already bundled.
The default configuration is for 80mm wide paper rolls. However by removing the supplied paper guide, you can use 82.5mm paper. By moving the paper guide to it's alternate position, 58mm paper rolls is also supported.
It is possible to use 82.5mm / 80mm wide paper by using the optional "Paper Guide" .
It is possible to use from 45mm to112mm ± 0.5mm wide paper. There is a rotating knob which pushes the guides inward to suit the paper.
It is possible to use 82.5mm / 80mm / 58mm wide paper by moving the "Paper Guide" .
The Star TSP100(U/ECO/LAN), Star TSP600 & Star TSP650(II) support paper thicknesses from 0.065mm to 0.085mm.
Star FVP10, TSP700, Star TSP700II, Star TSP800, Star TSP800II, Star TSP828L and Star TSP1000 can support paper thickness from 0.065mm (paper) to 0.15mm (thin card).
The life of built-in auto cutter will be affected with different paper thickness.
In details, please refer to specification manual of each models.
Star FVP10, Star TSP700, Star TSP700II, Star TSP800, Star TSP800II, Star TSP828L and Star TSP1000 can print on pre-printed tickets.
When in 'Start of page detect' mode, it will search for a black mark on the back side of your labels/tickets which are used to indicate the start of the next page. In this way, you can print on pre-printed tickets or labels and never loose alignment.
The correct dimensions for the black marks are mentioned in the user manual. Star TSP043, Star TSP100, Star TSP600 and Star TSP650(II) model do not have a black mark sensor, therefore they cannot print on pre-printed ticket paper.

Star FVP10, Star TSP700, Star TSP700II, Star TSP800, Star TSP800II, Star TSP828L, Star TSP1000 support label printing.
Your labels must have a black mark printed on the backside except Star TSP828L.
In case of Star TSP828L, other than printed black mark on label paper, label paper with transparent gap between each label can be also accepted.
All thermal printer models support 9 types of 1D barcode.
Star TSP700 and Star TSP800 support PDF417 by special firmware. In Star FVP10, Star TSP700II, Star TSP043, Star TSP828L and Star TSP1000, standard firmware already support 2D barcodes: PDF417 & QRcode. (TSP100 series supports QR code only.)
All Star thermal printer models except Star TSP043 & Star TSP1000 can be wall mounted or orientated vertically on a desktop.
An optional wall mounting kit and / or vertical stand are available.
When you print a self test (switch on printer with holding the "FEED" button), you should see a line on the self-test which prints
Now the printer is able to search for black marks when you feed one ticket/label at a time by pressing the "FEED" button.
If the black marks are positioned correctly but Star printer cannot recognize the black mark, you probably need to calibrate the sensor to suit the black level on your paper.
Version I printer is the original version of Star TSP400, version I printer can be identified by the version number on a self test. It prints with the prefix "TS 4" or "TS4" .
Version II adds several features that are useful for kiosk printing (Star TUP400) such as bi-directional parallel ports.
Star TSP400 has never been manufactured with the board of version II, but only Star TUP400. Version II printer can be identified by the version number prefix "T4V2" printed on self-test.
Version Z printer is the latest revision, it is compatible with the interface board of version II.
It has also been upgraded to run at 80mm/second instead of 50mm/second.
All TSP400 and TUP400 manufactured by Star are now version Z. Version Z printer can be identified by the version number prefix "T4 Z" printed on self-test.
Cutting command is <ESC> "d" n.
After MSW1-8=1, in case of n=2 or 3, simply, after this command is executed, paper is fed to cutting position (default cutting position is the center of black mark) and executes cutting.
You can adjust the cutting position by MSW2.
If the thermal paper quality is not good enough as Star's recommended paper, print density may not be high enough due to its paper quality.
In this case, you can change the energy of head heating by MSW2 for Star TSP043 / Star TSP100 / Star TSP600 / Star TSP650 / Star TSP700 / Star TSP700II / Star TSP800 / Star TSP800II / Star TSP828L / Star TSP1000.
But increasing the energy of head heating may shorten the life of print head.
In case of Star TSP700 / Star 700II / Star TSP800 / Star TSP800II / Star TSP1000, top margin can be set to 3mm.
Set MSW1-9=1 and executes full cut, paper goes backward about 10mm and stop at the position where top margin of next page is 3mm.
Star TSP043, Star TSP600, Star TSP650, Star TSP650II, Star TSP700, Star TSP700II, Star TSP800, Star TSP800II, Star TSP828L, Star TSP1000 series have Chinese fonts that conform to GB2312 and BIG5. For Star TSP600 and Star TSP700, special firmware is required to use with BIG5 fonts.
Star TSP100 supports Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP/2000, Linux and MAC. All those drivers and utility are included in the bundled software CD. [ Download ]
Star thermal printers include PE sensor and paper near end sensor which can detect if the paper is running out and amount of paper remaining inside printer.
Certain status will be feedback and indicated by LEDs on the panel of printer.
